GZM Górnośląsko-Zagłębiowska Metropolia
Metropolis GZM (Górnośląsko-Zagłębiowska Metropolia) is a highly industrialized urban area with 41 municipalities and 2.2 million inhabitants in the southern part of Poland. Besides creating a coherent public transport network and a city bike-sharing system, GZM is on the verge of utilizing never before used urban airspace for modern services. To meet these objectives, aspiring to the position of being the first choice in Poland in terms of modern urban mobility development, Metropolis GZM hosts the Central European Drone Demonstrator. Implementing GZM’s projects for the efficient inclusion of drones in urban mobility is supported by their experience with working internationally with UAM initiatives and Horizon 2020 consortia.
In ASSURED – UAM, GZM:

leads the activities on City projects, with DTA and CEIIA

contributes to the verification of implementation scenarios and making recommendations for introducing drones to the urban spaces in Bari, Porto and GZM

conducts market analyzes and research the feasibility of launching drone operations and services in the near future (2-3 years)
