ASSURED-UAM will provide support and give technical assistance for the implementation of vertical transport in three overpopulated cities: Górnoslasko-Zaglebiowska Metropolis (GZM) (Upper-Silesian region in Poland), Bari (Italy) and the city of Porto (Portugal). It aims to assure outstanding robustness in terms of safety, sustainability and acceptability of UAM by focusing on propagating and accommodating aviation best practices, standards, recommendations and organizational solutions into city administrative and legislative structures responsible for the deployment Urban Air Mobility services in the near future. It will assure broad and comprehensive organisational and policy definition support for authorities, policy makers and urban industry organizations in the complex process of implementing vertical transport with horizontal dimensions of urban and peri-urban mobility systems. It will provide recommendations for integration of surface modes under the umbrella of U-Space Air Traffic Management System and organizational and policy framework for the introduction of unmanned urban air mobility. It will look at scenarios for 10 use cases within 5, 10 and 15-year’ timeframe, make knowledge base and policy recommendations in 8 languages, and create standards for products and processes as well as tools for exchange and learning of urban air mobility, project development support and technical assistance. There will be UAM community integration and wide consultations, cooperation, and synergy with other projects, industry and user groups.
